We had made previous trips to Las Vegas including one on a New Years Eve
This trip we did not have enough extra money to do that.
We just walked around the downtown and explored the inside of the casinos there.

Bud and Eugene spent the night in our sleeping bags in the borrow pit of Interstat 15
Northeast of Las Vegas. We had a late night before exploring the downtown of Las Vegas
so slept rather late.
We spent the rest of this day driving North on Interstat 15 to the area of Bridal Veil Falls
near Provo, Utah

One was going up as the other was coming down.
This aerial tram was considered one of the steepest ascents in the world in it's day.

We left Salt Lake City, Utah late in the afternoon and East on Interstate 80 into Western Wyoming.
Now September 6, 1968
We spent the previous night camping out near the Flaming Gorge National Recreation area.
We left Interstate 80 at Rawlins, Wyoming and headed North across The Great Divide Basin
where the continental divide splits to surround the region.
We passed the Pathfinder and Alcova dams on our way to Casper, Wyoming.
After Casper, we drove Northeast on secondary road across the oil fields
and on Northeast to the Black Hills of South Dakota and our home in Whitewood.
